I see nothing wrong kung magkaroon siya ng interest na tumulong at mag-apply sa positiom. Ang masama kung gagamitin lang niya ito para pagandahin ang image niya na parang nasira ng nakipaghiwalay siya kay James at hindi talaga siya magpafunction in her role. Actress Angelina Jolie has nothing to fear. Kris Aquino will not take her position away from her.
But Kris, the presidential sister, was not “offered” the post of ambassadress of goodwill by the United Nations High Commission on Refugees. She asked for the position and the Manila office of UNHCR, through its head Bernard Kerblat, decided to give her the post of “honorary patron” of the agency instead.
Kris has sought the position for some time, our sources say, but it was only recently that Kerblat’s office endorsed the offer to the Geneva head office of UNHCR. The informants said the agency has a policy of not turning down anyone who seeks the title if they really want it and if they can prove that they have a genuine desire to do the work of aiding refugees.
Incidentally, Kerblat, a Frenchman, is married to a Filipina, Victoria Abad Kerblat. Abad-Kerblat, according to her blog, is a biologist by training who worked in refugee camps and who dabbles in art; she hails from the province of Batanes.
It was embattled presidential adviser for political affairs Ronald Llamas who on Monday reported that the executive committee of the UNHCR in Geneva had appointed Kris as goodwill ambassador. Kris confirmed this later on, without mentioning that she was not exactly a goodwill ambassador like Jolie—or that it was she who sought the position.

If Kris sought the position herself, perhaps she has plan to donate some of her money to good cause. Which is not bad at all.

Personal lives should not be an issue if certain people, no matter how tainted their personal lives seemed are quite prepared to offer good services to the needy and prepared to work for it. Di ba??
i would prefer that she donates her money to the marginalixed people in the Philippines than the refugees who are taken cared of by many countries.

Here’s what happened: Last November, the UNHCR office in Manila contacted presidential sister Kris to explore the possibility of a partnership between the actress-TV host and the organization. The office, headed by Frenchman Bernard Kerblat, offered Kris the post of “honorary patron,” which is the initial step in the process of becoming a potential UNHCR goodwill ambassador like Hollywood superstar Jolie and the late Princess of Wales.
Kerblat’s office contacted UNHCR headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland about the plan. Some time later, the UN agency’s Division of External Relations, whose approval of such proposals is required, gave the go-ahead to make the younger Aquino an honorary patron.
This was the situation when presidential adviser on political affairs Ronald Llamas arrived from Switzerland to face a press conference about his aides who met an accident while they were joyriding in his official SUV with his high-powered assault rifle. In an apparent attempt to deflect attention from himself and to suck up to his boss at the same time, Llamas said that he had been personally informed by UNHCR chief Gutierres in Geneva that Kris was now a goodwill ambassador like Jolie.
