Grounds for Divorce in the Philippines

Bago ako pumunta sa topic ko, sisigaw lang ako ng INITTTT. Lumabas nga ako for appointment sa aking primary care physician. Diniscuss lang sa akin ang resulta ng aking complete blood result.

May mga pasyente, nakaboxer lang. Iyong isang matanda, parang nakaduster. Private clinic naman yon at hindi government pero talagang grabe ang init. 94 F. Airconditioned naman ang clinic. Kaya lang paglabas mo sa pinto, grabeng init ang sasalubong saiyo. Tostado nga ako. Well done.

Punta tayo sa divorce

I was a minor when I got married. There was no written consent from my mother (my father was already deceased that time). My mother said that she could have my marriage annulled. Tapos binitbit niya ako pauwi. hehehe. Hanggang diyan na lang ang istorya ng aking unang paglukso sa kasal. Sabi nga ng propesor ko sa Math sa College, bakit daw ba ako nagmadali. Kalokohan ko na siya noon  kasi 1.00 ako sa kaniya (ahem) at bakit daw siya walang makatisod. Sabi ko ang tangkad kasi niya. hehehe.

Ang aking US divorce naman ay dahil sa kadramahan. Parang teleserye. Nagkita raw sila (si J) at ang kaniyang dating kakilala. Nagkabalikan. Nainlove na naman daw siya. Naawa naman ako dahil baka ako lang ang nakakasagabal sa kaniyang kaligayahan, kaya nagfile na ako ng divorce. (kailangan ko ng buong orchestra sa background). 

Di kami kasal sa simbahan. Jew siya at ako naman ay Katoliko.

Nang malaman ng aking SIL, sabi niya. "Naniniwala ka naman? Alam mo namang aspiring for Oscar award yan . Hanggang ngayon daw may imaginary friend pa siya.  Di nga pinirmahan di ba?"

Dito kasi pag hindi pinirmahan ang summons after 90 days pwede ng ipaapprove ang divorce sa court thru default. Ayun, akala niya asawa pa rin niya ako. Wifey pa ang tawag sa akin pag tumatawag sa phone pag may occasion.  Parang wipes. toinkk. Kinukumusta ko yong imaginary wife niya. Pag magkahiwalay na kayo, you can afford na magbiruan. 

Sa Pilipinas, ito ang grounds ng  isinusulong nilang divorce bill.

House Bill 1799 (An Act Introducing Divorce in the Philippines), lists down five grounds for the filing of a petition for divorce:

1. Petitioner has been separated de facto (in fact) from his or her spouse for at least five years at the time of the filing of the petition and reconciliation is highly improbable;

2. Petitioner has been legally separated from his or her spouse for at least two years at the time of the filing of the petition and reconciliation is highly improbable;

3. When the spouses suffer from irreconcilable differences that have caused the irreparable breakdown of the marriage;

4. When one or both spouses are psychologically incapacitated to comply with the essential marital obligations;

5. Any of the grounds for legal separation that has caused the irreparable breakdown of the marriage.
