Naiinis ako kahapon pagbasa ng balita. Ito nakita ko sa isang broadsheet. Sa Taft daw ito nakita. Hinanap ko ulit ang retrato, wala na doon sa front page.

Aba eh, isa, magbibisikleta siya sa main thoroughfare, walang helmet, walang pads at nagmamalaki pa ang loko. Pag nasanggi ito ng mga sasakyan, kasalanan pa ng sasakyan. Hindi ba bawal ang bisikleta sa gitna ng kalye. Kung yong nga " kuliglig " pinagbabawal na sa city. Akala ko pa naman insekto ang kuliglig. May kilala akong kuliglig na kumakanta kahit hindi umuulan yuk yuk yuk.
Buti naman ipinagbawal na. Bah kung makasingil sila, akala mo ay airconditioned ang kanilang sasakyan sa mahal.
Isa pang kinatamaran ko nang pagsulat ay dahil sa balitang ito.
“I am willing to take a bullet for him. I never leave anyone,” Puno told the Inquirer. “We have been friends for so long. Why should I abandon him now of all times?”
Puno, 54, is an agricultural economics graduate of the University of the Philippines in Los Baños.
No qualification
Critics claim Puno does not have any qualification to head the DILG post with administrative supervision over the Philippine National Police.
But Puno thinks otherwise.
According to him, the Punos are close to the Aquinos. His mother hails from Tarlac province.
In 1986, after Mr. Aquino’s mother Corazon became the President, Puno and her son became close.
An accomplished practical shooter, Puno said he trained members of Corazon Aquino’s Presidential Security Group (PSG) in firearms proficiency.
