You might ask what is my excuse in getting "bananas" with the candidates who filed their CoCs today, Monday.


I'll tell you. I checked our larder today and the freezer compartment of the ref and I made a resolution which does not have to pass Congress..that is everything with the date stamp that it has already "died' should be buried. Excuse me....am still reading forensic inspired novels. This time, it is about entomology. The study of insect. The specialization of my favorite CSI bugman, Gil Grissom who left CSI to marry Sarah Sidle. Ang mga traidor. I ws so broken-hearted tht I did not watch the series again except for CSI:NY.Anyway nakuha ko na ang aking salamin kaya nakita ko na hindi pala ipis yong nasa ilalim ng sink kung hindi balat ng butong pakwan at hindi pala nunal yong nasa paa ko kung hindi calcified black choc. Yuck.

Wearing yellow shirt, the teleevangelist and head of the JIL, Eddie Villanueva filed his candidacy together with his Bangon Party candidates. He is still running under Bangon Party, the same party which he used when he run for Presidency in 2004. Hanggang ngayon di pa siya nakakabangon.

Villanueva filed his candidacy together with his vice presidential candidate, lawyer Perfecto Yasay, also a former chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, and his senatorial candidates—former GMA 7 reporter Alex Tinsay, former ABS-CBN anchor Kata Inocencio, lawyer Ramon Ocampo of Iglesia ni Cristo, Dr. Israel Virgines of the Seventh Day Adventist and Dr. Noldi Alonto from the Muslim community.

Sa loob ng COMELEC , nagkasalubong sila ng party naman ni Villar na ang suot ay orange. Nahati ang mga tao ngayon sa dalawang kulay, orange at yellow. Parang tindahan ng prutas, orange at bananas. Buti na lang nakapagfile n si Noynoy na nakayellow rin kung hindi baka mga fruit flies na naman ang pumasok. Eh ang dami ng butterflies sa loob. Yon bang paiba-iba ng party.

Ang problema ay si Erap  inakusahan si Villar na nanggaya sa kulay nila.

Nagdrive si Erap ng jeep  papunta sa COMELEC dahil akala ko kasama niya lahat ang kaniyang First Ladies. Hindi pala. Kasi si Guia Gomez na nanay ni JV ang tatakbo sa San Juan at si JV naman ay tatakbong Congressman. Hanep ano. may mayor, may congressman at may senador. at kung mananalo si Erap. God help us from Estradas. They are all over. Ngiii.

KALOKA MOMENTS- POLITICS IS ONE BIG MENTAL ASYLUM FOR PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES

We are a culture that practices blame-giving. We always find a scapegoat for simple and complicated problems. Best of all, we look for someone or something to blame because of our ineptness or inadequacy. I AM GUILTY YOUR HONOR. SO PROSECUTE ME.

I called up the optical store last Saturday if my glasses are ready. The guy said yes. But I was not feeling well or was just lazy to break my momentum by getting dress and going to the store. Sunday, i felt the urge to find out if there are still Black Friday goods that are still low-priced on my way to the optical store. DAMN. The store was closed for Sunday and I did not even bother to pick up the phone to call or check the office hours.

KAINIS 


If my eldest brod is here, he will give me a " freezing stare" that would melt an iceberg in the Arctic region. That's what he was when we were younger and he was acting as the head of the family. He did not nag. He simply made his eyes big and continue to stare not unless you compete with him for a pissing/staring contest by wearing shades and goosedown jacket.


The bottomline of my blamegame ek ek is that I am blaming the newspaper for giving 15 second fame to the nuisance candidates for the 2010 presidential election. It makes my mind "goes out for lunch" for a while to escape the banana moments. AHHHHHH.

By allowing the people who have no capacity to engage in a national campaign (di ba nila nadigest ang sinabi ni Villar, pakiulit mo nga Lee, pag wala kang bilyon, wala kang karapatang magkandidato pagkapresidente) COMELEC encourages all colorful if not totally unhinged individuals who waste the Comelec time by allowing them to register. Who sez that democracy is dead in the Philippines?


Look at this guy who has nothing but the bling bling. He's educated since he's a dentist daw. Why did he file for candidacy? To show off his gold. Lalabasan ko rin siya ng gold. Gold Fish. Nyahahaha.

Women Power, Nuisance Candidate and Political Dynasties

I was asking the little scarecrow that hangs in the corner of my desk and now the little snowman that hangs in my table lamp about the news that I read for the past six days. No comment. Playing safe guys, eh. Even my stuff toy cat would not give me a reaction. Great!!!. In this little world of mine, I am the only one who is thinking. Brrrrr (makes raspberry sound).



1. Noynoy and Roxas filed their CoCs.


Look who were with them:

Aquino was also accompanied by his sisters Balsy, Pinky, Viel, and television host and actress Kris.

Judy Araneta-Roxas, mother of Mar Roxas, and broadcast journalist and Roxas’ wife Korina Sanchez, were also present at the Comelec.

 Methinks, why was the mother of Mar Roxas in the Comelec to accompany the son?  (slap self).  but of course to give moral support, silly. Takot bang baka umurong na naman. (slap self again. timigil ka na). How did Korina feel to be with the MIL ?
My ex-hubby used to tell me that the MOTHER-IN-LAW problem  is a universal phenomenon regardless of culture, race and religion. 

Masaya silang dalawa, sila'y magkasama.

Well I expect that the sisters of Noynoy Aquino would be there especially Kris Aquino who does not fail to remind the public that she is helping him financially. Her son is coming up with another album.

2. Ebdane is not going to run. Hikbi hikbi hikbi

Pramis ha? is meant to be broken especially if your survey does not even show one digit. Never mind Gilberto Teodoro. He is a Cojuangco.

Wearing black, Ely Pamatong filed his certificate of candidacy Friday, with his own group of supporters, the Philippine-USA Guerrilla.

Siya yong nag-utos sa kaniyang mga kampon na lagyan ng pako ang kalsada. Siya yong nagpapramis sa kanyang mga alagad na magiging American citizen pag napanalo niya ang kaso niyang gawing State ang Pilipinas. OO insan hanggang ngayon marami pang naniniwala niyan. Sa San Francisco sikat siya sa pagiging notorious.

I can not find the link but I saw in the news that socialite Baby Arenas (the one rumored to Fidel Ramos) who claimed that she supported the former president accompanied his son Romeo Arenas to file his CoC for representative of a district in a province in Visayas. He could no longer run in Pangasinan. His sister is a congresswoman in Pangasinan. Gina de Venecia, the wife of JDV and the stepmother of Joey de Venecia (who?) is also running for Congress in the fourth district of the province.

Deadliest Catch and Forensic Science

Dear insansapinas,
For the last few days, I 've been eating dead carcasses of poultryslashfarmresidents aka chicken and turkey. Sorry for the use of the term "carcasses". I am on a forensic overload after reading two novels of Kathy Reichs--the producer and the real persona of Temperance Brennan of the series BONES and watching CSI. At least English ang gamit ko hindi Tagalog kung hindi isusulat ko bang nawili akong kumain ng bangkay ng manok kagaya noong retrato ni Lee na nakalutang sa sabaw ang hindi inahitang manok na inihain sa kanila sa restaurant.  Yuk.

So last night, I decided to eat "mummified"... ooops...sardines in oil and spice for a change while watching the Deadliest Catch reality show. The episode showed how the fishermen catch crabs in the Arctic Region with all those big waves and ice floes that their boats have to surmount.. It is a high risk job that there is a fast turnover of deckhands. Now I know why crabs are expensive. I still prefer our local crab. Hindi yong alimasag kung hindi yong alimango.

Thanksgiving Carnage

It had been more than 24 hours that I did not blog. For some, that is no big deal. For me who makes at least 2 or 3 posts a day, an absence of a blog entry is indicative of my status, healthwise....muscle pain which prevents me from sitting for a long time...more blurred eyes that give me furrowed lines between my two eyes due to too much squinting  or simply stomach cramps that make me burp at the rate of 60 per hour.


I like to blog but I can't. Although my blog entries appear to be serious at the beginning, my punchline which is  often funny (that's what I think) at the end to soften the impact of a horrific event or to make fun of a stupidity of some people-claiming-to-have-an-IQ-of-Mensa-community-of-nerds will be of bad taste.


Yesterday, much as I would like to blog funny anecdotes, I can't.  I was trying to look for the reason why a man who was even invited for the Thanksgiving dinner could kill his relatives that included children and pregnant woman.

Authorities in Florida were searching Saturday for a man police said opened fire on his family after Thanksgiving dinner and killed four people, including his pregnant sister and a 6-year-old cousin who was sleeping in her bed.

I searched among the psychology-inspired novels which explain why people snapped. 

Except for this statement in the news, I could not find a more substantial reason for such a deadly outrage :

There had been "ongoing resentment" in the family, but investigators weren't sure what specifically prompted the shooting, officials said.

One of James Patterson novels is about a person who simply kills without any reason. He made it appear that he was a non-conformist of the lifestlye of the rich and famous. The "bread crumbs" that he leaves in his trail pointed to some evidence that he
was a veteran who must have been a victim of a war-syndrome.

At the end, it was just his conscience which haunted him in leaving his brother to his father when his parents separated that made him kill the people who he felt was the reason why his brother committed suicide. Others who died were just collateral damage.

So this Thanksgiving rampage makes me think that there is no place where you're safe. The Fort Hood massacre last month was inside a military zone while this incident happened in the safety of the home of the victims.

I can do nothing but pray and shed tears in the same manner that I shed much but for revulsion  on the knowledge of how the women victims of the Maguindanao massacre were killed. Too much savagery too send a message of terror.

Even animals cry for their fallen friends so let me just say...

CNN Heroes Telecast 

I still have to master how to use  eyedrop. Pag ginamit ko, either papatak sa pisngi ko, sa eyelids o sa gilid ng mata. Never yatang pumasok sa mata. Pero ngayong gabi, swak siya kaya mamasa-masa ang aking mata. Palusot pa. Eh dalawang oras akong nakatanghod sa TV para sa CNN Heroes Telecast. Basa rin ang kamiseta ko, hindi naman sa patak ng luha kung hindi sa tubig na lumigwak galing sa baso pag-inom ko. Palusot ulit.
Sige na nga hikbi,hikbi, hikbi.

Bilib  ako sa mga taong napiling heroes,  kasama si Efren Penaflorida syempre. Isang hero doon na taga Indonesia ay may ampon na 48 aside from tatlo nilang anak. 

Naalala ko tuloy ang aking lola na kung buhay siguro, hero  din dahil may isandaan yata ang kaniyang inampon noong  malakas pa siya at matagumpay na businesswoman .


I felt humbled. Napatunayan lang na hindi kailangang maging Bill Gates ka o Warren Buffett para maging pilantropo o makatulong sa kapwa. At hindi mo kailangang maging relihiyoso (take note one presidentiable) o kaya ay tumakbo ng public office. (take note another presidentiable) para maging hero.


Turkey pa rin



Anyway, turkey pa rin ang kinain namin. Hindi nga lang yong buo kung hindi yong pinilas-pilas na. Masarap din siya. Kasama ang mga  kabarkada ng turkey pag siya ang nakahain sa lamesa, kagaya ng mashed potato, pasta, cornbread, sweet corn at apple pie. 


Ang mga kaibigan kong bumati ay nagsabi na magluluto sila ng lumpiang shanghai, embutido, pancit, adobo at dinuguan. Ang mga lintek, pinaglaway pa ako.

Hindi ito ang Good Friday. Ito ang Friday after Thanksgiving kung saan bagsak ang presyo at ang mga shoppers ay nakapila na sa labas ng stores bago ito bumukas ng alas 4 o alas singko o alas seis.


Binigyan ako ng aking kapatid ko ng shopping flyers mula sa isang electronic store. Balak pala niyang sumama sa mga taong makikipagbalyahan pagbukas ng mall sa mga shoppers bukas.


Panay naman ang check ko sa mga items na gusto ko.  Baka sakaling makaabot pa siyang meron pang available na item. Kasi ang ibig  sabihin ng limited supplies ay baka isa lang ang item na kanilang ibabargain sale.


Wala rin silang raincheck. Siguro, ayaw nilang bumaha. ehek.

Medyo kapalmuks ang mag-asawang party crashers sa state dinner party na ibinigay ni President Obama sa Prime Minister ng India.
Hindi sila imbitado, nakalusot sila at nilagay pa sa Facebook ang kanilang mga retrato at sila raw ay imbitado. (Facebook na naman)  
Yon pla ay marami silang kaso na involved ay kaperahan.

Akala ko pa naman sa pelikula lang nangyayari ito kagaya noong Wedding party Crashers nina Owen Wilson.

Actor: I left my momma to pursue this woman...now I miss my mother.
Woman enters the scene with a letter that she handed to the man. The Man read it and howled.
"My momma, she's dead". 

He got up and reached for a gun to kill himself. He changed his  mind. Instead, he sung. Nanginginig na boses. From the dark, the silhouette of a man playing a violin stood from the foot of the stage.
Yan yong sinasabing. Play the violin na nga.


No this is not real.


I am watching a Godfather marathon. It was a scene where the young Vito Corleone was watching an opera or a stage play. 

For the first time, I got interested watching the movie. The first time, I watched it, I do not know what the movie was all about. Yeah I
know that it was violent. I can not understand what MAFIA is. The next time I watched it from the AMC Channel (I have not even watched Part 2 and 3, so sue me), I have already watched several organized  crime-inspired movies so more or less I know that the big families of the Dons were always treated with respect especially the women and children. Still I did not finish the movie.



The reason I got interested in the Godfather is because of the massacre in MAGUINDANAO. There are the same elements of revenge, power struggle, carnage and decades of loathing and warlordism.

At the same time, I am reading a novel about power struggle for control of the drug trade by organized crime of bikers in Canada that led to so many deaths of members and innocent bystanders. It is a fiction I know but it gives me the answer why these people are not afraid to kill. Given the arms and the power, they enjoy the control over many people thru threats and murders as authorities seemed inadequate to protect the civilians. They can not just make arrests on the basis of circumstantial evidence. High calibre and expensive lawyers are hired  to question the processes from arrests to gathering of evidences. Witnesses are silenced...even if they're relatives.


One statement that is similar to a comment that was posted in my blog which I did not publish had this message:

Why not let these sociopaths kill each other as self-regulation?  One character that had the same idea with mine articulated the reason why the authorities can not just watch in the sideline or collect dead bodies  and say buti nga saiyo because there are innocent people who are included in the carnage...like the journalists, the lawyes and there may even have witnesses in the case of Maguindanao.



Again, I did not finish the movie part 2. It was just beginning and my eyelids felt romantic that the upper would like to kiss the lower eyelids. I looked at the clock and I realized that I was awake since 4:00 AM today.



Before I took my forty winks, I remember the question posed by the anthropologist/main character of the novel, Tempe Brennan...what were the feelings when the victims were being killed...when they were being tortured...did they hope that someone is going to come to save them?


And before I finally had fallen to the dreamland, I remember when I was young and had just watched DARNA movie. For several days, I fantasized that I am the flying heroine minus the red two piece suit that's had been shrinking  as new movie stars tackle the role...and I saved people who were about to be killed by humans, aliens and monsters.

I was always brought back to planet Earth by my nanny-cousin who woud pull the piece of cloth that I used as my cape.

"Hanap ng hanap ang auntie...mo sa kaniyang tapis, ito lang pala saiyo. Tingnan mo hindi tuloy makalabas sa kuwarto".

THANKSGIVING and the story of Turkey

HAPPY THANKSGIVING !!!

Turkeys: Ignore the people looking at us.  They feel grateful and they slaughter us for their dinner. Humans, cannibals!!!

If you want to know why turkeys are preferred during Thanksgiving, read this. 

We're not eating turkey this year, Honestly, I prefer its smaller relatives.  I will try ordering Peking Duck instead. Cholesterol laden fowl but tastes great.


Turkeys remind of the days when I came home from work hauling the five lb uncooked turkey as give-away for the employees.  If no one wanted the dressed turkey, I was forced to cook it for hours Wednesday night,  Since Thanksgiving is like Christmas in the Philippines where families prefer to bond with families, no one came to eat the poor bird. It became a resident of my freezer for 12 months until another one replaced it. 

In the meantime, trout, tilapia, salmon became its roommates in the freezer compartment. The seafood families came and went and the turkey stood its ground in the corner occupying at least more than one fourth of the freezer.

Like an awardee in a popularity contest where the winner wins because she arm-twisted, coerced relatives and gave friends the guilty complex if they are not going to vote for her, I like to express my thanks to: (violin start playing plez).


1. being sick - it made me realize that true friends do not exceed the number of your fingers and toes.  I thank the remaining friends who call every now and then to check me out or bring gossips of any kind.

Bed for me was like a mirage. I can also watch reruns of TV series which I was able to watch either the beginning or the ending because either I have to leave early or come home late in the night.

(Nasaan ba ang magazine diyan at masampal itong aking doctor. HINDI AKO GUMAGAMIT NG FACE TOWEL ANOH. Lampin ang ginagamit ko. beh. Magaspang ang face towel. Hindi rin ako gumagamit ng sabon sa mukha ko dahil nakakadry ng skin. Kaya pinagmamalaki kong wala pa akong wrinkles sa mukha o laugh lines sa may mata. HUWAG LANG NINYONG TITINGNAN ANG BATOK KO. bwahahahah.


Turo yan ni Boots Anson Roa noong minsan naging speaker namin siya sa aming symposium tungkol sa Skin Care at Personality Development. Tingnan mo nadevelop ang personality ko. Dami kong masel. hohoho.

Jason  Ivler who? Siya ang pamangkin ni Freddie Aguilar na siyang suspect sa pagpatay sa anak ni Ruben Ebarle Jr.

THE Quezon City Police has finalized murder charges against Jason Ivler, stepson of an Asian Development Bank economist, after two witnesses identified him as the one who gunned down Renato Ebarle Jr. Wednesday night over a traffic altercation.

They said a foreign-looking man alighted from a blue Honda CRV with diplomatic plates (20903) and fired several shots at Ebarle, 27, who was driving a Toyota Land Cruiser.

VIOLATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS

Our son, Jason Ivler, an American

citizen on vacation here in the Philippines

was involved in a multiple-car accident in

the early hours of Sunday 8th August. Jason

 was driving our car, a Toyota Prado, with

license plate 23370. He was driving from

south to north on C5 when another car veered

in front of him, forcing him to lose control

of the Toyota and for the Toyota to crash.

Injured in the accident, Jason was placed

on a stretcher and taken by MMDA ambulance to

the nearest hospital Quirino Hospital along

Katipunan Ave. Quezon City. He was refused

emergency treatment at the hospital as it

was reported to be full. He was eventually

taken to the Asian Hospital in Alabang by

Lifeline ambulance.

Unfortunately the driver of another

vehicle involved in the accident, a Mr. Ponce,

a government official was killed and his wife

slightly injured. Mr. Ponce was driving an

Isuzu Trooper from north to south on the

same highway.

By 4:00 in the morning of the next day,

Monday, Capt. Lumbania posted PO3 Rivera to

begin a 24-hour "watch" on Jason, who was at

that time was still in great pain and under

observation, awaiting medical results. The

doctor in attendance issued a statement to

the staff of Asian Hospital that his main

concern and responsibility was the health

of his patient and that he forbade any police

interview with Jason as he was in no physical

condition to give an interview.

At 7:00 in the evening, Monday, August 9th

I questioned PO3 Rivera and asked him what he

was doing at Asian Hospital. He said he didn't

really understand why he was there, but he was

told by Capt. Lumbania of the Traffic Enforcement

Group to be there and he gave the Captain's

cellphone number. When questioned why the

authorities had posted a 24 hours watch on our

son, Captain Lumbania said it was "routine".

When questioned if the police do this to every

person involved in a car accident, he refused

to answer the question. When questioned who

gave him the order to put a 24 hour watch on

Jason, Capt. Lumbania refused to answer the

question. I called him twice more and eventually,

he gave the name of the Chief of Police of Pasig,

 Senior Superintendent Katugal. However, when

pressured PO3 Rivera gave a different answer.

He said the order came "from the top". That it

was General Valenzuela who gave the order.<p/>

I called ADB Security that evening and asked

them to contact Gen. Valenzuela to confirm the

presence of PO3 Rivera. They started calling

his office from 7:30 pm but he couldn't be

reached. I left the hospital at 10 pm that

evening and according to ADB Security Gen.

Valenzuela's office could not locate him.

Afraid and confused, I called a

friend who is a high-ranking government

official and told him what was happening.

He said, "Marlene, call ADB Security. Get

close protection for your son. I feel your

son's life is in danger." I followed his

instructions.My husband and I are very

upset that the Eastern Police District

posted a 24-hour watch on Jason. At the

time no police charges had been levied

against him. The actions of the police,

we believe, are in strong violation of

human rights.

Hindi ko alam kung ano ang human rights violation dito. Kung hindi siya guilty, bakit tumatakas siya?  

Ngayon daw ay nag-aapeal si , Marlene Aguilar-Pollard, para sumurender and anak niya.

Nakakalaya lang siya dahil sa bail sa kaso niyang pagpatay kay Nestor Ponce, Jr.

Pero hindi pa rin siya naniniwala na si Jason ang pumatay kay Ebarle.
