Immigration officer-in-charge Ronaldo Ledesma, in an interview with GMA News, said Extend Incorporated failed to clear with his office the advertisements placed on the cards.
“Sila po kumikita sa pamamagitan ng mga patalastas nila, naku-kompromiso po kami, kailangan na po na gawan ng hakbang ang isyu na iyan,” Ledesma said.
“Hindi din naman masama 'yong larawan ni Ms. Belo ngunit para sa akin, sana kinonsulta muna kami kung tama ba itong ilalagay na advertisement na ito.”
In a press statement, The Belo Medical Group, known to cater to the country's big stars, said it “went through the normal process of advertising in the immigration card and did not approach anyone in the government to get the deal.”

The new card shows Belo in her signature white medical gown.
“Present this coupon at any Belo Medical Group clinic and get a 10 percent discount on non-surgical procedures and liposuction,” the fine print on the card stated.
The reverse side of the card features an advertisement for Microtel Hotel and Resorts and Mall of Asia.

As of yesterday, the 30-member Airline Operations Council (AOC), said that millions of copies of the new card were distributed and airlifted to their various headquarters around the world.
