Top Movie Stars of Philippine Cinema Part 3

Dear insansapinas,
This is part 3 of Top Movie Stars of Philippine Cinema. It includes both those who had passed away and who are still alive.

1. JOSE PADILLA, JR.

He was the brother of Carlos Padilla Sr., the grandfather of Zsa Zsa Padilla. He was also the uncle of Robin Padilla and Rudy Fernandez on the mother side. His wife was a popular actress Arsenia Francisco. There is no information when he died.

2. EDDIE GARCIA

Eddie Garcia (born Eduardo Verchez García on May 2, 1929 in Sorsogon, Philippines ) popularly known as Manoy is one of the top Filipino actors and also a Movie Director. As of this writing, he's semi-retired in the movies.

He is the only person in the Philippines to be a Hall of Fame inductee of the FAMAS in three categories: Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor and Best Director
He is the only performer in Philippine movie history to win three consecutive FAMAS Awards: Best Supporting Actor Awards for Taga sa Bato (1957), Condenado (1958) and Tanikalang Apoy (1959).

3. ROBERT AREVALO

Robert Arevalo, born Robert Ylagan on November 24, 1943, is a Filipino film and television actor and the husband of another famous movie actress, Barbara Perez.

He is the son of Filipino film actor Tito Arevalo; his uncle Angel Esmeralda is the father of the late Jay Ilagan and his uncle Gil De Leon is a national artist and an award winning movie director.

4. Armando Goyena

His real name was Jose "Pinggoy" Revilla and he probably married one of the most beautiful Filipinas of that time, Francisca "Paquita" Roses. They were the parents of 8 children: Maritess, Tina, Johnny, Ces, Pita, Rossi, Malu, Cita and Johnny.
MOVIE actor Armando Goyena had to play a woman in the '50s before he could become a star.

The part was the title role in the 1953 comedy "Tiya Loleng" with Tessie Quintana, which was filmed at least three decades before Dustin Hoffman made "Tootsie" and Robin Williams played "Mrs. Doubtfire."

"They imitated us," Goyena chuckles. "The movie became a big hit, and that's how I made some money to marry."

Goyena, now over 80, was married to Francisca Roses, also called Paquita, the first Camay soap model, with whom he had seven daughters and a son. Two of these daughters first became movie stars themselves-Maritess Revilla, who was also a soap model, and Tina Revilla, who later became a television host.
He has 28 grandchildren, four of whom have also become celebrities -- Bianca Araneta, her brother Carlo, Bernard "BJ" Palanca and his brother Mico.
