Conversation wih a Cat in a T-shirt

Dear insansapinas,

My imaginary cat is wearing a t-shirt. Remnant of the just concluded election.

Me: You are the walking evidence why the economy recorded a growth rate of 7.3 GDP in the first quarter. The t-shirt business and other campaign materials boomed since late 2009.

Cat: It is free. Why do you think humans braved the heat to welcome the candidates...not to listen to their speeches but to catch the freebies being distributed.  I collected a dozen of them. meow. It is not true that it did not trickle to the poor. The marginalized sector will have a lot of trash to sell for recycling including empty plastic bottled water. Isn't election, great? *wink*

Me: Yep and wait for the increase in bank rates to wipe the excess liquidity in the financial system.

Cat: By that time, I will have new progressive glasses, new wardrobe and new hair cut.
Me: Why?

Part of the image in the " The Making of a Politicat" where even the shoes that one wears is scrutinized by the constituents.

Me : Really?

Cat: Really. Do you know that even dogs are part of the image creation. In the US, an elected official should have a family dog. Better with a family and kids. A single politician with no family is regarded as someone afraid of responsibility or commitment.

Me: You are reading too much novels again, cat. In the real world in  Pinas, the elected officials have no time for pets because they have to battle with real PESTS. Many of our politicians have more than one family. Some of their pets are tigers, crocodiles and lions. Can you imagine that?

Cat: Can I have coffee, make it decaf. It lowers blood pressure.

Me: I thought cats drink milk only.

Cat: I am lactose intolerant and cats are not allowed in coffee shops.
